I get it. Because I’ve been there too.

I’m Lorraine, an Irish Registered Dietitian dedicated to helping people sort out their gut issues — and someone who’s faced the very gut struggles you might be dealing with right now.

For years, I struggled with a bowel that just wouldn’t move properly… along with all the bloating and discomfort that comes with it.
I followed all the textbook advice: more fibre, more water, more movement, more mindfulness apps.

I was a dietitian doing all the ‘right’ things — and still, I felt stuck.

I saw specialists, was told to ‘try low FODMAP,’ ‘just drink more water,’ or ‘take these laxatives.’

But nothing truly worked — because those weren’t the root cause. Worse still, I felt unheard, dismissed, and isolated.

That experience changed everything. It drove me to dig deeper and find real solutions.

What Finally Made a Difference?

Determined to find real answers, I specialised in gut health — diving into the science of digestion, symptom triggers, and the powerful role of the gut–brain connection.
 
I also trained in gut-directed hypnotherapy, a highly effective approach that works with the nervous system to calm the gut from the inside out.
Since then, I’ve been able to combine the right strategies for each unique IBS presentation — matching proven dietary approaches with gut–brain therapies for real, lasting relief.
 
This isn’t just about identifying food triggers. It’s about nourishing your gut, reducing overall sensitivity, and helping your body respond more calmly to food — so you can rebuild variety, ease intolerances, and let go of food fear.
 
I’ve also written two books — Gut Feeling (on FODMAPs) and Why You Can’t Go (on constipation) — because I believe information should empower, not overwhelm.
